Europe, it’s federation or irrelevance!

European autonomy is facing an existential challenge. Aggression at our borders, economic warfare, and escalating geopolitical threats from erstwhile allies, have exposed a fundamental truth: our current structure cannot protect our European sovereignty, while individual sovereignty for most member states is a joke, a posture with little to back it up. The European Union’s fragmented response to these crises reveals not just institutional weakness, but an existential vulnerability that grows more dangerous with each passing day. The national EU elites definitely seem to not be up to the challenge.

Individual European nations, no matter their history or pride, lack the scale to defend their interests in a world dominated by continental powers. A democratic European federation is no longer an idealistic vision—it is the only viable path to preserving genuine sovereignty for our continent and its peoples.

This is urgent. We cannot afford years of bureaucratic deliberation while our autonomy erodes. A federal Europe must be built as soon as feasible, structured to respect national identities and regional distinctiveness while creating the unified strength our security demands. This is not about erasing cultures; it is about ensuring they survive in freedom rather than as dependencies of foreign powers.

This transformation requires grassroots momentum. We call on federalists across the democratic spectrum—left, right, and center—to coordinate their efforts and create a unified political movement for the construction of a contestable unitary political space (which is the only democratic space out of which meaningful and substantial political decisions can emerge). Fragmented advocacy has failed. Only a cohesive voice can drive constitutional change.

Together for Europe urges citizens to organize locally in whatever form suits their community: discussion groups, advocacy networks, political committees. Contact us with your initiatives. We will amplify your message, connect your efforts with others, and build the pressure needed for action. We also call other Federalist organizations to team up and seize this very critical moment. After the Greenland debacle, a majority of Europeans seem to “get it”, that they cannot depend on anyone outside our continent.

The choice before us is stark: federation or vassalage. Every European who values self-determination must act. The moment for debate has passed. The work of building our shared future begins today.
